April 2014 saw the seventh annual New Energy and Cleantech Awards at the Victoria Park Plaza in London.
The awards included Entrepreneur of the Year, New Energy Champion, and the prestigious Company of the Year, won by Greencoat UK Wind, a £350 million renewable energy infrastructure fund.
Other winners included Innovator of the Year Loowatt, whose waterless toilet system is supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Meanwhile, coming out on top of the Investor of the Year category was the Environmental Technologies Fund, which was chosen by the judging panel after raising £60 million for its second fund.

2014 also saw the very first Clean Invest Forum, which was a great success. Cleantech companies looking for growth finance presented to an investor audience. The day consisted of individual presentations followed by a Q&A session.

The New Energy awards was an exceptional event in an exceptional setting. Watching innovative businesses, which push the envelope of this fast-growth sector, receive well-deserved accolades for their determination and delivery was both inspiring and humbling. By attending this event, we were fortunate to witness the frontier and meet the pioneers of a sustainable new energy sector.
